Recently, I learned that I needed to replace the cutting knives in my kitchen. I’m not going to say who made this request, but let’s just say that ignoring this person would be, “ill-advised.” Immediately, I wondered if Costco might sell a quality knife set for a reasonable price. I checked out my local Costco and found the Tomodachi 6-Piece Cutlery Set. Since I’m into blogging, I figured I might as well write a Costco Tomodachi Kitchen Knife Set Review.

I could probably write a long-winded review about this knife set, but let’s face it, a cutlery set is not rocket science. Instead, I will lay out some cutlery set puns. Here we go… The Tomodachi knife set is a “cut above the rest!” Hey, I know what you’re thinking and yes, this knife set sure is as “sharp, as it looks!”
In short, this knife set is great! The Tomodachi Knife Set has sharp blades and comes with blade guards for a reasonable price of $19.99 (Canadian dollars.) For 6 knives, it is pretty hard to beat. In fact, if you go to the manufacturer’s(Hampton Forge) website, you can compare similar cutlery sets and see just how good a deal this is.
Fun Fact: “Tomodachi” is a Japanese word and directly translates to “friend” in English.

I bought these knives a few months back because I was too lazy to sharpen my old set. These rock!
Haha, that’s exactly what happened to me. I just didn’t want to come out right away and admit it. 🙂
Sounds like a good birthday present! I think this is a hint.
I’ve had my set from Costco for 7 years now and I’ve only had to sharpen then once, and I cook every day. Still going strong even after putting them in the dishwasher. My only issue is that the handles are a bit slippery when your hands are wet, but other than that, they are great.
Kinda of late to the party but having a new set of cutting knives was a must. I got the set of 8 (+ 8 knives guards) for 20$ at Costco. No kidding. btw, the handles are non slip, kind of rubber so wet or dry, they dont slips from your hands.
Good points. 🙂 Thanks for commenting!
